Southampton drawn to face Newcastle United in EFL Cup semi-final

SAINTShave been drawn to face Newcastle United in the EFL Cup semi-finals, after defeating Manchester City 2-0 in the last eight.

Nathan Joness side were immaculate as goals from Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo were enough to dump Pep Guardiolas men out.

Meanwhile, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest have been matched in the other tie, with a Wembley final at the end of February the prize.

The matches, in a home and away two-legged format, are due to be played on Tuesday or Wednesday week commencing Monday, January 23 and Monday, January 30.

Saints reached the final of the 2017 competition with victory over Liverpool, before eventual defeat to a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-inspired Manchester United.
